[Myri asks Spike to come with her, and they check out a car, which she lets him drive, directing him to take them towards London. As they ride, she studies him in the darkness, before finally saying:]   I... meant to ask as well, how you were feeling. I heard people talking about what happened.

Maybe. Or maybe they'd have taken Vi or Elena or Finnick instead. I'd be surprised he didn't go for Elena, but... well, I'm pretty sure he's got a crush on her or something. [IT'S WEIRD AND CREEPY AND THERE IS DEFINITELY TIME FOR GOSSIP NOW.] You were unlucky. Doesn't mean they wouldn't have found a way in without you.

[She shakes her head]

I think they wanted me. Something about Nadia. I'm not sure.

[bigbad]

Then they'd have found a way to get you. We can't watch you 24-7, and you wouldn't want us to. This isn't on you.

[witchwoman]

[Nodding, she tries to calm down.]

The others? They're alright?

[bigbad]

Yeah. We're all back at the castle now. It's a bit weird. Like a vacation. [A beat.] Or, and Des likes blokes now. He's got some sort of boyfriend back in New York. Starting to think Kat might like a bloke too.

[Which is even more surprising, to be honest.]

It's a bit hard to tell, but no one's that much of an arse to a guy unless they've got feelings for 'em.

[Spike's love life, explained in one sentence.]

[witchwoman]

Fred. [Myri says, recalling a conversation.] Kat, I mean. She told me about them, about what happened.

[As for Des, myri doesn't quite know what to make of that. She's never encountered this situation before.]

Des...is he- Does he seem happy? [Because that's what matters.]

[bigbad]

I knew there was something there!

[He considers.] Des never seems happy. But apparently they were all but undressing each other on the dance floor at the club in New York.

[witchwoman]

And.... Finnick? [not at all a subtle change of topic.]

[bigbad]

He's all right. Misses you, of course.

[Actually, Spike hasn't spent much time with Finnick. But he doubts saying "He's probably still drinking all the time, the lout" will help anything, and he's sure what he's saying is true.] He was giving out swimming lessons a bit ago.

[witchwoman]

Oh, that's... [itt sort of hits her all at once just how well this doppelgänger could mimic her. She can't blame any of them for being fooled. The way it had lured her with Finnick's form had been perfect- too good to be true, really.]

I'm glad everyone seems to be settling in. [And she really is. She doesn't want any of them to experience discomfort or know that anything is wrong at all, really. She doesn't want any of them endangered. Having Spike here makes that more complicated since she DOES want to see him saved.]

[bigbad]

Well, it won't last. Wanker's got to slip up sooner or later. And when he does, they'll find us.

[witchwoman]

And if that's exactly what they're hoping for? Did you suspect at all when they captured you while wearing my face? What if they want to pick us off, one by one to bring us here.

[bigbad]

Myri... Myri, love, you can't... don't fret too much about the what-if's. Besides, sounds like they're more interested in information than bodies. [Which is... great... when people trust Spike and Myri both so much. For once, he's grateful that the team keeps so many secrets from each other.]

[witchwoman]

[She tries to take a few calming breaths, holding onto his words and the fact that he's here which is so hard for her to think of as a good thing, but it does help. She feels terrible for feeling relieved to have him trapped with her.]

How long? How long have I been here, Spike?

[The days run together. They don't let her sleep much and what sleep she gets is fitful. It's felt like eternity, truly.]

[bigbad]

[He looks over at her and swallows, expression filled with pain.]

When did they take you?

[witchwoman]

At the airport. I never made the flight.

[As if that is somehow important. She's pretty traumatized over here.]

Finnick- they knew I couldn't say no. It looked him him and he said... [She shakes her head, trying not to think of that day, how the doppleganger had said everything she ever dreamed the real Finnick might have, but it had all been a trick and a lie while the real one let her go.]

They told me what I needed to hear.

[bigbad]

Oh. [His voice softens. He has all sorts of things he'd like to say to Finnick right now if he could have. Namely, that it bloody well should have been Finnick there. She might blame herself, but if he's going to unreasonably place blame on someone other than the bad guys, for him? It'll be Finnick. Bloody bastard should have been there, saying the right things himself.]

It's April, now.

[witchwoman]

A month, then. [It felt longer. She's not sure whether she's happy that it's only been that long.]

Elena and Vi- did I miss... Have they been promoted?

[Would the doppleganger promote her squire in her place? The thought makes Myri a little sick t her stomach.]

[bigbad]

Not yet. I mean, we've all been assuming, but it hasn't... they haven't had the ceremony.

[witchwoman]

[She nods, visibly relieved to have not missed a milestone like that. AND SINCE MYRI DOESN'T KNOW OF ANY OTHER MILESTONES... she lets that drop.]

And Buffy? How is she?

[bigbad]

Buffy's... great. [He sure doesn't sound like he believes that. Buffy's probably not doing all too well, but it's not like the two of them have spent as much time together lately.] Looks like she and Rafael are gonna make pointy eared babies after all.

[Yeah he definitely sounds even more unhappy about this than being kidnapped.]

[witchwoman]

They're..? [Wow a lot happened in a month.]

I'm sorry, Spike.

[bigbad]

[He shrugs, looking away.] No, don't be. It's what she wants. And I do want her to be happy. She's got precious little else to be happy about lately. [He just doesn't know if Rafael will ever get her there.]

[witchwoman]

I know you want her to be happy. But I want you to be happy too. I'm not sorry that she and Rafael might have found something. That's wonderful, if they've really managed it. But I'm sorry because i know it hurts you. I know how much you care about her.
