[ It's been a long road.

Months of being on the run from people who suspect the worst of them, all as Elena gears up for exactly this moment, might make it a little surreal once they actually get here.   But as she pointed out to Kyp, she's never going to be more ready.    It's his idea to keep an eye on outbound travel from Andres, and to usurp the identity of two Andresian nobles traveling to France on their private yacht for a weekend.  While he insists they should simply kill the couple to ensure that they won't be discovered and find a way to alert Dimitris, Elena readily talks him into simply leaving them under a sleeping potion procured in England, in a closet of their penthouse, where someone is bound to find them in the next few days.  Enough time for them to get to the island, and do whatever it is they need to do.  

Kyp pilots the yacht all by himself, wearing Aldus Laurent's fancy captain's hat as he does so, sporting the man's face even at sea.   ]

[She's made a lot of moral choices in the last few months that would have horrified her a year or two ago, but there are lines she's not ready to cross yet.

Murder would be one of them, and she was quick to point out the fact that he'd once acted like being called a murderer was offensive.

It wasn't these poor saps fault that she needed their boat. They'd probably get it back. Someday. Maybe.

They could also just buy a new one.

Elena moves to the window as they approach the Isle, no doubt wearing the face of Aldus' wife, left behind to sleep away without a care. It's just one of the likely hundred's of faces she's had since she left the castle, one more to wear and forget about.

She's focused on something entirely different, the one thing that's kept her going since she left. They're here, and it feels strange to have finally made it. Now she just has to hope they can pull it off.]

How far do we need to go inland once we dock?

[ he glances back at her, shrugging ] Depends on where you'd like to start.

Well, we need to figure out where they're holding him. We'll have to get the location from the higher ups.

[imposturing]

The castle it is, then. [ he tilts his head, thoughtful. ] About fifteen miles, maybe. We'll need a vehicle.

It wouldn't be an outing if we weren't stealing another form of transportation.

[No, really, it's like a daily ritual at this point probably.

She looks out the window, trying to find something near the shore that they could probably snag in a hurry (spot 30).]

Something snappy, I hope.

[ there is, in fact, a whole parking lot full of cars right there :D one of which is bound to be accessible to experienced car thieves. kyp pulls expertly in to dock, in the mean time. ]

Well, there's no shortage. I've got my eye on the Porsche or the Jaguar, though.

[Mmm, rich people cars. She moves to leave the cabin, heading over to where they'll tie the boat to the dock. Might as well help get this show on the road.]

[ he moves to join her once they're stopped, and together they rope it off with ease since he got a ... 20 something anyway. aw yis. he takes the hop onto the dock and extends a hand up for her. ]

Look at you acquiring a taste for it.

[She takes his hand, letting him help her keep her balance as she steps off the boat onto the dock after him.]

Well, anyone docking with one of these isn't going to be driving a piece of crap. Not to mention we might need a nice, fast getaway car.

[Though when she smiles, there's a bit of a twinkle in her eyes.]

Bonus? They're pretty.

Well in that case-- [ he turns around, walking backwards as he pushes both hands in his pockets ] The Porsche is prettier. [ he nods his head that way. YOU WANNA JACK THIS ONE BB? ]

[Her eyebrows raise but she doesn't see a reason to contradict him.

So she'll casually wander over, and pretend her lockpick is a key as she gracefully breaks into the locked car (disable device 20).]

[ like a fucking pro, yo. kyp watches with amusement as she gets in, and then slips past her. ] Pardon, darling. [ with a wink, he moves to hotwire that shit in no time flat (disable device 27). it purrs to life, and he slips into the driver's seat. ] Shall we?

[She has a good teacher. :')

She watches him with a raised brow and a smirk as he has to basically crawl over her to get to the front dash but clearly they have...done this before.

Please. I'm not getting any younger over here.

[Get it? Moar doppelganger jokes. Because she doesn't like to look old and this lady is too over the hill for her tastes, okay?]

Oh don't worry. You look ravishing as always. [ he sticks his tongue in his cheek as he puts the vehicle in gear, adjusts the mirrors, and then puts on his seatbelt, cutting her a look ] Safety first. [ smirk. and then they're off~~ ]

Stop. You'll make me blush.

[So deadpan, but she's grinning as does the same before she looks out the window. Idle banter seems to help tame the butterflies in her stomach as they drive away from their stolen boat.]

[ he drives as fast as he can manage without like... tempting the police to come after them ok. a spot check of 15 is enough to notice the group of soldiers in the street as they drive by. ] I presume we've some kind of actual plan for when we get to the palace. I doubt the Laurents have an open invitation at this late hour.

We'd have to come up with a very good reason as to why they should let us in, but that might create too much attention on us, and I'd like to avoid that. There's always impersonating the security.

[She leans back in her seat.]

Or we just get there and come up with something on the fly. [She looks over at him.] Feel free to offer up any better ideas if you have them.

[And then she sees it easily through the window (spot 25)]

What do you think that's all about?

Sarandis is a paranoid man on his best day. Doesn't take much to set him on edge. Let's just hope it wasn't the Laurents breaking out of that broom closet ahead of schedule and making a phone call we'll both regret.

[ he frowns into the rearview mirror ] If we impersonate security, we'll need someone specific to mimic. And something to do with them in the meanwhile.

[She sighs, leaning her head back against the head rest again.]

Kyp, you're the infiltration expert. [Seriously, he's done this before. SHE WAS THERE.] What do you think we should do? You can't tell me you didn't think of a plan before even agreeing to come here.

[imposturing]

[ his flippant demeanor switches into something more thoughtful, a frown tugging at his lips ] I thought of several. Then threw them all out for lack of intel.

We're going to have to play this by ear. Which I'm quite accomplished at on my own, but I'm unused to-- [ he cuts her a glance ] Having a partner.

We didn't do so badly last time.

[Though somehow she thinks that breaking out of Wynn's dungeon will be a lot easier than this mess.]

I'll follow your lead.

[Which means she's trusting him, because he can get said intel better than she can.]

[ he glances over at her, reading that confidence, and his lips curve up slightly as he looks forward again. the look in his eye changes, and she can tell that the part of him that relishes a challenge is engaging now, encouraged by her faith in him. ]

We could use these marks to our advantage - as well as the vehicle. We're going to have an easier time getting access via the gate guards, and if we can swap with them, that means we won't have to get past them, either.

We stage a breakdown of the car, just up the road. You use those womanly wiles of yours to draw them out to assist... we knock them out - dangerous, but not impossible, they certainly won't be expecting it. [ not to mention, he certainly didn't let them come to andres without guns in the first place, one of which is probably in his suit coat, the other in her purse ] Tie them up in the trunk, deposit the car in the woods, march back inside, none the wiser.

[Her eyebrows lift, because daaaamn.

See, this is why she asked. So impressed.]

It almost sounds too easy.

Then I suppose there's no point in waiting, hmm? [ he pulls the car over, turning it off. ] You head up the road, and I'll take out a piece of the engine, give them something to corroborate our story when they come to check it out.

[She's not tripping about it, though, and she moves to get out of the car, taking her bag with her.]
