[ As promised, Wynn meets Spike at the airport, to take him on a private plane back to New York where he just came from. He isn't particularly chatty on the way, although when they've landed, he turns back to regard him. ]

I'll ask one more time if you're certain of this, Sir Spike.  It is your decision, but I will trust your word.

[ well, he at least resists getting paralyzed but the hallway is full of gas and he can't see how the bad guys fared on the other end as it drifts down that way. 76 dmg tho ;; dumage is out of the cone tucked against the door so she misses the worst of it, but coughs into his chest. ] We have to go! Is that thing here to save us or kill us?!

[He grabs her hand and starts pulling her down the hallway. However they're faring, they're probably plenty distracted at least. Seems like a good time for an escape attempt.]

[ she will wrap her arms around his neck and hold on for dear life as the dragon unleashes a loud, screeching roar that sends shivers up her spine. she buries her head against spike, as the dragon retracts from the hotel amid more splintering glass, the sound of flapping wings deafening around them, and stirring up a wild wind. ]

[Spike lets out a whoop, keeping an arm tightly around her and holding on to.... anything you can hold onto with a dragon. He's experienced a lot of crazy things since waking up without memories so many years ago. This? Might top all of them.]

[ and up, up, and away they go into the clouds! she spares one glance back to where a few guards appear in the window, firing weapons up pointlessly but it's too late. it gets cold as they go further up, which just means she's not inclined to let go of him even if it wouldn't mean maybe falling to her death. ]

[Spike shifts his coat, trying to get it to cover her too as best he can. He would take it off and give it to her, but honestly not letting go of the thing that's flying them into the stratosphere beats chivalry right now.]

[ she finally breaks the silence, as she takes note of his attempts ] Don't worry yourself too much about it, darling. If I turn into a popsicle and fall to my death, it might be preferable to the way I'm likely to go now.

[bigbad]

[He chuckles lightly, ducking his head towards her.] Be a rather anticlimatic way to end the night after all this. I'm so bloody glad you came.

I only went with them in the first place to distract them from killing us both, you daft git. [ there's some fondness in the insult, at least ] Little did I know you intended to give them a second go at it.

I figured. That's why I came back for you. [He quirks an eyebrow.] Figured I'm far too much a moron for them to see as a real threat. Wynn's hired muscle, right?

You've got guts, I'll give you that.

I imagine the others weren't so inclined to think the best of my intentions. I hardly expect a warm welcome.

[He's probably not going to beat up everyone who's cold towards Dumage. Probably.]
