[ Finnick is alone out in the living room, knotting his knots, and most everyone else is gone: Isa and Vi are down at NOVA HQ, Buffy and Des are out getting breakfast, Kat, Gar, Mark, Myri, Spike(??), and Elena (and probably Dawn) are all off at the zoo. It's not until it's so quiet that Jade's door creaks open, and a very pale, disheveled half-elf emerges like a zombie. He doesn't seem to notice Finnick at all tbh, and closes the door behind him, closing his eyes and tipping his head back against it. ]

[he perks up at the creaking of the door (listen 15) especially since he ... thought everyone else was gone, ok. little did he account for rafael still existing in the world. when he cranes his neck toward the noise and sees rafael, he basically says as much.]

I didn't realize anyone was still here.

[romanticidal]

[ he opens his eyes with dull shock, as if finnick caught him doing something, and then relaxes slightly, just looking tired. ] ... Neither did I. It sounded as if everyone had gone.

[he turns his focus back to knot-making, but keeps talking to raf.] I think most of them went to the zoo.

Isabella? [ he leans forward a bit, craning his neck to look down the hall ]

Haven't seen her. [he stops for a moment to think if he should ask questions or not, but then decided he doesn't give a fuck about anything in the world anymore.] Why? Have you talked to her since the hospital?

[romanticidal]

[ he pulls away from the door slightly, moving past finnick slowly. ] ... No. It seemed best to just-- [ but he doesn't finish that thought. he hardly seems all there at all, as if he's got too many things on his dazed mind. he runs a hand over his mouth. ] Buffy, did she--?

Did she what? [his fingers stop moving as his eyes rollow raf around the room. from his tone is pretty clear to see that he's not actually curious; it's more like he's trying to draw an answer out of him.]

Go with them? [ part of him sounds sad at the idea, the other part sounds relieved somehow. ]

Well, she's not here. [that's his way of saying "i don't know" that makes him sound slightly more knowledgable than he actually is ... ] I haven't been awake that long. I doubt you'll find me much useful for answering any questions.

[romanticidal]

Si, si, I should not have-- [ he shakes his head ] It does not matter. [ he moves towards the door of the apartment. ] I can leave you alone again.

[he had resented rafael for basically mind raping jade, but it was hard to harbor much ill will towards someone looking so pathetic. especially when he felt just about equally pathetic.] You don't have to. [and maybe part of him didn't really feel like being alone ... ] Take a seat. Maybe there's something to watch on TV.

[ he hesitates, one hand on his jacket, considering the offer. he looks as if there's a lot more hanging on it than just an afternoon's entertainment, but finally he shakes his head ] I was going out anyway.

[ he pauses, then adds, as if he can't help himself: ] The park... it is very beautiful this time of year. [ yet wow does he ever sound TRAGICALLY SAD ABOUT ITS BEAUTY. never has a park sounded more ominous. ]

The one up the street. [ they pass it like every day so unless finnick fails his spot check every day of his life he probably knows which one.
