[ It's amazing, the things that can slip through the cracks. The team is so focused on Vi's suspicious desire to speak to Keijen or the drow god haunting her nightmares, that they're all expending their energy keeping an eye on her so that she doesn't sneak out at night, when in fact, she's not the one looking to go march straight back to the bad guys.

That would be Elena.

It's easy, therefore, for her to get out of the hotel room without anyone even questioning where she's going. ]

You could always just wait in the car. [Spike would have killed that doppelganger if Myri hadn't stopped him. He doesn't particularly like Archer's insinuations. Besides, bringing Archer on a mission where the main goal ISN'T to kill anything seems like a recipe for disaster.]

[Archer laughs, exasperated at his own cleverness, as he grabs a Mint Julep from the drink mixer in his glove box, and gets out of the car, before quickly inspecting his weapon loadout... Pistols, shotgun, ammo, Omicron Spymaster... check, check, and.... checkity check.

[Spike leans forward putting a hand on Archer's shoulder, and shifts his fangs out with a smile.] I don't need a gun for extra persuasion. You're all just happy meals with legs to me. Perhaps you should consider that before you come up with any more clever nicknames. [Intimidate 32.]

[No way he can make that will save (And no dice on me atm) so Archer will jerk away from Spike a little wide-eyed.]

...Hostile work environment [He mutters under his breath, then motions Elena toward the door.]

[Elena nods, takes another deep breath, and walks toward the hotel, stepping through the automatic doors as they reach them and heading into the hotel.

After a quick glance around the lobby (Spot 13), she moves straight for the elevators, intent on...heading straight up to the room that their 'friends' were staying in. (Navigation 11)]

[Archer tags along nonchalantly, looking around...]

[Spike looks around warily (spot 28) as he follows Elena.]

[As they wait for the elevator...]

Heh... I just realized, we're "returning to the scene of the crime."

[ spike spots her first, but she pauses as she walks around the corner and folds her arms, staring at them. the elevator doors ding open in front of them, but she speaks up before any of them make a move to go in. ]

[Elena glances over at the sound of her voice, surprised to have run into one of them so...well...easily. And of all people, the one they were trying to save.]

[Either way, it's true, whether this is really Nadia, or it could potentially be the person she's looking for. She can pose as anyone, after all.

She lowers her voice, in the hopes that not everyone nearby will hear them.]

You had someone staying with you when we were here last, someone who could look like anyone they wanted. [A beat.] I want to talk to them. Think you could help me?

[The last time Spike tried to talk to Nadia she WAS A DOPPELGANGER. Which is... actually what they want this time. But either way, Spike crosses his arms and lets Elena do the talking, watching Nadia suspiciously in case she turns into someone else.]

the moment spike thinks that, "nadia"'s eyes shift to him, and she smirks strangely... and her features start to morph into something oh so familiar.

he turns spike's gaze back to elena, curiosity and amusement warring in his eyes as he looks her over. ]

Think I'm flattered, love. You really are just a kid, aren't you? Waltzing in here with your own face, bold as brass, when you could get to me so much easier.

I had a feeling you'd be back.

[Oh my god Spike hates you so much.]

And I'm sure no one's going to stare at all at two of me just standing here. Brilliant plan.

[A beat.]

[He knows from all the mirrors he doesn't look into.]

[ he shoots spike a dismissive judgmental glance. ]

No one's keeping you here, mate. Why don't you shove off awhile and let the lady and I go somewhere to have a chat? This doesn't concern you. Or were you looking for another go?

[She looks between her two friends, her expression serious.]

It's fine guys. I'll go talk to...them. [Because lol what are pronouns rn.] We won't be far.

I don't know who "James" is... but, there's a good chance.

I can't really be bothered to keep a list of everyone I've shot...

In his defense, that guy pulled a gun first.

[And held their friend hostage. Of the things Archer has done that she doesn't agree with, and while she doesn't think blowing him away in such a public way was a good idea, she doesn't exactly feel particularly bad about the fact that he's dead.]

We're just going to talk, and this isn't something I want to discuss where anyone in the lobby can hear anyway, and someone needs to keep a lookout. I'll yell if I need you, okay?

[With luck, she'll try to keep close enough that Spike can eavesdrop anyway, with his vampiric hearing.]

Little Bit's right, in that the last thing I want is for anyone to see me talking to you lot, either.

[ a woman rounds the corner just then, obviously coming to the elevator, and stops in her tracks, staring at the two spikes. the doppelganger flashes her a smile and hits the arrow to open the doors, gesturing her through, and saying cheekily: ] Twin convention. [ her eyes widen a bit skeptically but she looks between them both and nods once curtly, moving past him. as the doors close on her, 'spike' turns to face them again... and assumes the woman's face and clothes, shifting mannerisms again. ]

She'll do. C'mon, I swiped an empty room key from the desk when we got here. First floor. [ she holds up said key and turns on her heels to head towards the room halls ]

Fine. This is your deal, anyway. But you.

[Small Archer's gun is out in a flash.]

Fucking better not try anything funny, Raven Darkhölme... [Intimidate @ 16. I need to put more points into dat.] ...Or we'll all get to see what you look like as Swiss cheese.

[He shoves the gun back away, and pulls out his flask.]

C'mon Blondie, let's do what the nice lady says.
