kat's finally got the police hq blueprints on lock and tapped into all the security protocols, so it should be a simple in and out tonight. of course, they are breaking into a police station of all places, but kat's confident they've got this shit on lock.



buuuut then there's that whole thing where she slams the trunk closed on all their weapons and gear, dressed head to toe in black like the other two, only to find Jaka standing on the opposite side of their car, one eyebrow raised behind the sunglasses he's sporting even at night. he smirks and says: ]

[Yeah, Spike's driving. He climbs into the front seat and starts the engine. At least he's... waiting for Kat to get in before actually driving.]

He better be a good enough lawyer to get us out of this if we get caught.

[shootfirst]

[ kat yanks open the back door and dives in. ] Go go go go go!

[bigbad]

[SPIKE JUST GOT A NAT 20 DRIVE CHECK SO HE IS CAREENING OUT OF THERE PERFECTLY. No, it is actually pretty damn impressive. He's always vanishing around a corner or skidding through an alley that is only just barely wide enough to get the car through. He smashes through barriers and narrowly avoids getting a wheel stuck in an open manhole... unlike one unfortunate cop car behind him. At one point, he stops and the police cars comically drive right past him while he turns around and goes the other way. Finally, he's lost all but one particularly determined police car, he starts driving full speed towards a drawbridge that is starting to go up....

pause for reactions....]

[ while initially worried, spike's amazing driving works kat up into a gleeful frenzy and she whoops loudly as they continue to narrowly escape, cheering him on. her eyes widen at the sight of the bridge, but then she shoves her face up between the front seats. ] I hope you're about to do what I think you're about to do.

[slay]

[ buffy on the other hand looks SEVERELY ALARMED. she's actually really comfortable with his crazy aggressive getaway driving right up until they start approaching the raising bridge. she whips her head around to track the cops behind them, and then shifts it once more to the front of the car and the bridge raising in front of it. ]

Pedal. Metal. Now, please!

[bigbad]

[Spike doesn't answer either of them as he zooms forward, up the slowly (but really not that slowly) raising bridge. He doesn't slow down even a bit as they near the edge, even though there is a lot of water below them and this will be pretty bad if he doesn't make it. They launch off the end, and there's a heartstopping (for the people with pulses) moment where there is NOTHING AT ALL under the wheels...........


and then they land solidly on the other side of the bridge and continue careening down it. Spike turns into a grassy area to cut some of the speed and knocks over a touristy map sign that says WELCOME TO CHICAGO in bright, colorful letters. Then he's back on the road and driving like someone who isn't on the run from police.]

Think we lost 'em.

[shootfirst]

That. Was. AWESOME! Ok, I'm never giving you shit again. Official.

[slay]

[ an enormous sigh of relief comes from the backseat. ]

[bigbad]

I'll believe that when it happens. [Sry Kat he doesn't believe you're capable of not giving him shit. Still, he looks pretty pleased about the compliment. And about his driving. That was pretty cool.] Suppose we ought to reconvene with the others now. [Slowly, calmly, and with all four wheels on the ground.]

[ kat's smile of glee melts, memories of what they uncovered settling back in in the wake of the excitement that kept it in the back of her brain for a bit. ] Reconvene my fist with someone's face, you mean.
