[ With a surprising amount of overall support from the team, Elena gets the opportunity to return to the Waldorf without having to sneak around her teammates, to continue her 'doppel-lessons' from Kyp.

Of course, she doesn't get to go alone, and Spike has volunteered to play guard dog. The hotel is relatively quiet as they arrive this fine evening. ]

[ lbr it probably looks even more awkward with the way they're gripping each other, but one kyp looks up and over at spike, momentarily startled by his appearance, but then composing himself ] Relax, Spike.

[Wow, worst timing, Spike.

She released Kyp's arm as she looks over her shoulder, eyes a little wide and lips pressed together.]

Can you...put the fangs away, please? You're freaking me out.

[Well, that answers that question. He shakes his fangs off (will save 19) and grabs one of the non-broken beers from the floor. He needs it tbh.]

So, I guess you've learned the trick of it, then? Probably should work on your acting...

[She breathes out, trying to release some of the anxiety brought on by that adrenaline rush. At least any lingering pain she'd been feeling was overridden by that. Geez, Spike.]

I guess so. [Hmph. Rude.] Can't I focus on one thing at a time? I didn't realize this was a test.

It shouldn't have been, but someone's a little fang-happy over there. What the hell did you think I was doing that was so sinister, exactly, that involved us both looking alike?

[Spike shoots him a glare that says there are ALL SORTS OF THINGS. And that's not even the point.] Just give a bloke a bit of warning next time.

I don't think either of us thought I would manage it the first time...

[She looks apologetic, though.]

[ kyp turns away to go fix himself a drink ] You should try him, too.

[She's walking over as she says it, though.]

[ smirk. he'll leave you to wonder, spike. ]

Wasn't the only other person here for him.

[But it's Elena, and Spike does trust her. He's not gonna try and stop her from doing whatever it is she's doing.]

[She holds out her hand, giving him a quiet smile that doesn't seem like it belongs on this face, with all the smirking it usually does instead.]

[He hesitates, then holds his hand out. He trusts Elena, even if he's not crazy about being doppelganged again.]

[She reaches forward and takes it, her eyes taking in his features, before she tries to will the change to happen again.

(ooc: and I'm going to assume she fails miserably since she can only...do this once a day based on her CS?)]

[A beat.]

...how long does is it supposed to take?

[She seems to be concentrating, brow furrowed, but when things start to shift between her skin, the pain returns, and she's so, so, so tired already.

Her features shift, alright, but it's immediately clear that she's going back to herself again, as if her body is just used to being like that.

She's cringing when it's over too.]

[ kyp moves to put a hand on her shoulder, in a reassuring gesture, and to help her keep from keeling over. ] It's alright. That's a lot to ask of your body, for one day. It's not used to it.

[Spike gives her an encouraging grin.] We can try again after you've rested.

[Yeah that whole keeling over thing? It might happen (fort save 5). She sort of wobbles on her feet as a wave of dizziness and fatigue rolls over her.

She manages a smile anyway, looking between them, even if she's only probably still standing because she has someone to lean against.]

[ with an amazing reflex save, kyp catches her before she can drop. ] I think our junior doppelganger's had enough for today.

I think I'm going to just...sleep for an entire week.

[Spike puts his hand on her shoulder.]

Let's get you back to the hotel. Once you've rested you can try again, if you feel like it. Show off for all our friends.

[ kyp glances up at spike, since he's right on top of them all of a sudden and then they all look into each other's eyes and have a threesome, and then back at elena, who he gently releases. ] I'm sure they'll be impressed. I know I am.

He might be releasing her, but she's turning and throwing her arms around his neck. Sorry mister doppelganger, you're getting a hug.]

[She says it quickly and quietly, releasing him a moment later and turning to take Spike's hand. Her smile is tired, but happy.]
