In the course of the silent drive towards the city, the mood Zero's projecting grows from initial clear irritation at her presence into something distracted and darker. A sense of mingled dread and anticipation hang in the air almost tangibly, and there are some moments where, in apparent response to some thought that races through his mind, his foot lowers on the accelerator even more and the increasing whir of the engine only seems to add to the sense of something coming.
He doesn't look at Lila, doesn't answer if she tries to make direct conversation at the onset of their journey, and only occasionally glances in the rearview mirror, where his eyes often fall on the laptop case leaning against the black leather backseat. The country roads inevitably give way to lights and civilization, and finally London is visible ahead, glittering and picturesque from a distance.
