[Myri asks Spike to come with her, and they check out a car, which she lets him drive, directing him to take them towards London. As they ride, she studies him in the darkness, before finally saying:]   I... meant to ask as well, how you were feeling. I heard people talking about what happened.

[Shifting, Myri fights weakly against the binding around her hands, but with her arms pulled back behind her, it's difficult for her to get any leverage.]

I don't think I can. But they'll... If you're not wearing it when we get there, they'll- [There's panic in her voice as she shakes her head. She's been here for so long, days dragging on and on. She knows better what they're capable of and she fears it so fiercely now.] I'm sorry.

[It's all she can think to say. She isn't brave like the others. She tried to be once, but now?]

[bigbad]

They'll die, is what they'll do, and keeping it on only delays the inevitable. [His voice is hard and flat and leaves no room for disagreement.] Kyp can't keep this up forever, especially if he's trying to be both of us. Our friends'll come for us. And if they don't do it fast enough, we'll bloody escape.

[His expression softens a little.] What have they been doing to you, pet?

[witchwoman]

[She doesn't argue with him. Part of her wants that so desperately, for him to be right, for the others to come. But she fears what might happen if they do. Would they all be trapped here? Would they be condemned to the island's experiments in an attempt to save her life?]

My empathy. They want to understand it. I think... He wants to find a way to replicate it, to use it to cause others pain. Eebo. They hurt him, torture him just to see how I'll react, how strongly I'll need to heal him, and I... I tried to fight it, Spike. I did.

[bigbad]

I know you did, love. [No matter what she thinks of herself, he has the highest opinion of her. He knows she'd fight it, and he knows it would kill her to fight it.] There's no shame in being who and what you are. You're good and kind and those wankers are using that against you and...

[He growls in frustration.]

Who's Eebo?

[witchwoman]

[She doesn't know exactly how to explain Eebo. He's another prisoner, another poor soul under the thumb of these people. He's not human, but Myri isn't quite sure what to make of him. But at the end of the day, the rest doesn't matter. And so she answers with the only part that does.]

He's my friend. And he needs our help.

[bigbad]

[He tries to nod, then rolls his eyes. This is really frustrating.]

We'll get him out when we rescue ourselves, then. Or when the cavalry arrives. [Buffy will come for them.]

[witchwoman]

...And if they don't? [She's been better about being strong around Eebo- or trying to be, not saying aloud the things that she fears. But she can't lie to Spike. And all she can think about is how she might die in this place.]

[bigbad]

They will. Haven't you met Buffy? [He gives her a smile.] She'll find us.

[witchwoman]

[She manages the smallest of smiles.]

I've missed you so much.

[bigbad]

[That's what he wanted to see. He smiles back at her. In a twisted way, he's almost glad he got kidnapped. At least Myri's not all alone now.] And it doesn't matter how much they torture me. I'm bloody dead. You won't feel it.

[witchwoman]

That's not what I'm worried about. [She says, her voice dropping as she thinks about it.] My magic- it... it hurts you. They could force me-

[bigbad]

Don't worry about hurting me. [He gives her a soft look.] I know you never would if you could help it. And if they wanted me dead, they'd have killed me already. I can put up with a little pain, love. And it won't be your fault. Remember that. It isn't you, it's them.

[witchwoman]

[She can't stop from crying a little, just a little. She's so tired and seeing him has brought up all the emotions she's tried so hard to keep locked up.]

I just want to go home...

[bigbad]

You will. I promise that much. [Whether he'll make it out with her or die in the process remains to be seen, but Spike will get her out.]

[witchwoman]

If I had just stayed... None of this would have happened.

[bigbad]

Maybe. Or maybe they'd have taken Vi or Elena or Finnick instead. I'd be surprised he didn't go for Elena, but... well, I'm pretty sure he's got a crush on her or something. [IT'S WEIRD AND CREEPY AND THERE IS DEFINITELY TIME FOR GOSSIP NOW.] You were unlucky. Doesn't mean they wouldn't have found a way in without you.

[witchwoman]

[She shakes her head]

I think they wanted me. Something about Nadia. I'm not sure.

[bigbad]

Then they'd have found a way to get you. We can't watch you 24-7, and you wouldn't want us to. This isn't on you.

[witchwoman]

[Nodding, she tries to calm down.]

The others? They're alright?

[bigbad]

Yeah. We're all back at the castle now. It's a bit weird. Like a vacation. [A beat.] Or, and Des likes blokes now. He's got some sort of boyfriend back in New York. Starting to think Kat might like a bloke too.

[Which is even more surprising, to be honest.]

It's a bit hard to tell, but no one's that much of an arse to a guy unless they've got feelings for 'em.

[Spike's love life, explained in one sentence.]

[witchwoman]

Fred. [Myri says, recalling a conversation.] Kat, I mean. She told me about them, about what happened.

[As for Des, myri doesn't quite know what to make of that. She's never encountered this situation before.]

Des...is he- Does he seem happy? [Because that's what matters.]

[bigbad]

I knew there was something there!

[He considers.] Des never seems happy. But apparently they were all but undressing each other on the dance floor at the club in New York.

[witchwoman]

And.... Finnick? [not at all a subtle change of topic.]

[bigbad]

He's all right. Misses you, of course.

[Actually, Spike hasn't spent much time with Finnick. But he doubts saying "He's probably still drinking all the time, the lout" will help anything, and he's sure what he's saying is true.] He was giving out swimming lessons a bit ago.

[witchwoman]

Oh, that's... [itt sort of hits her all at once just how well this doppelgänger could mimic her. She can't blame any of them for being fooled. The way it had lured her with Finnick's form had been perfect- too good to be true, really.]

I'm glad everyone seems to be settling in. [And she really is. She doesn't want any of them to experience discomfort or know that anything is wrong at all, really. She doesn't want any of them endangered. Having Spike here makes that more complicated since she DOES want to see him saved.]
