WHO || Elena & Wynn [closed]
WHAT || Elena goes to speak to Wynn about Kyp
WHERE || Knights HQ, the Round Table room
WHEN || End of May, a couple of days after Elena's party
HOW || Actionspam
[Elena doesn't know what she's doing, but her feet seem to be moving of their own accord.
This is her problem, and she can't help but feel as if she's the root cause for it all. Too many people's happiness, people that she loves, is at stake. She needs to fix this, however she can, and there are only a couple of ways to do it.
But first, she has questions. And she might only be able to get them from one person unless the tries scouring the minds of the other knights of the order.
And she's not sure she's ready to go that far. Or maybe, she just doesn't want to hear. What they say out loud is bad enough, sometimes.
So pretty soon, she's outside the door to Wynn's office, knocking lightly on the door. Wynn has always been an intimidating presence for her, and today is certainly going to be no exception.

[He just needs to prove that he's worth saving.]
We can give him a chance to make things right by helping get Thomas out of there. [And she can make things right, too. Keep her morals without betraying her friends.] With both of us...maybe we have a shot at it. And if not, well...then all you've lost is two doppelgangers that most of the castle doesn't like anyway.
[Ahaha Elena stahp.]

So her expression will just soften instead.]
Someone has to do it, and I'm partially responsible for this mess.
[Besides, Vi has Luthir. Myri has Finnick. Buffy has Rafael. All people that shouldn't be putting themselves into the line of fire. Elena has the least amount of people that will miss her if something goes wrong.]

There's too much at stake here, and we still don't know his motivations.

[Which is part of the problem, to be honest. They're supposed to be better than that.]
Do you have a plan already, then?
no subject
And it's likely we'll hear his terms, let him think we're playing his game. It may give us a clue to his true motivations.

The frustration is still there, though, under the surface.]
Can I be there?
[To the latter part.]

[She seems like the obvious choice.]

Is there anything you wanted to...talk to me about?

We didn't exactly talk about each other all that much back when I trained with him, though I'm guessing you can understand why. I do know that he didn't want the people that he was working for to know he was meeting with me, so we waited until they had left town.
He says he's in the intelligence business, that he claims Sarandis and his buddies to be neither friends nor allies. It's simply a job to him, and one he doesn't regret because he likes...spending time experiencing other people's relationships. It's the reason I think he might be lonely, because he doesn't feel like he really belongs anywhere. Sometimes, I can relate to that feeling too.
[This might not be the kind of thing he's asking for, but at this point she's just talking. Getting it out to someone who's clearly not judging her.]
He also implied that he previously worked for some kind of government, though I don't know which one. He also found it necessary to tell me the legitimate work wasn't something he could find there, since they're methods were no better than anyone else's.
[She presses her lips together nervously.]
He also said that he was hoping that I would...have someday left with him.
no subject
Is this something you'd given him reason to expect? Or merely wishful thinking on his part?
no subject
It's probably a little bit of both. It's not anything I ever intended to do, no. I thought about how I wished he'd switch sides and come back with us, and I have no doubt he was listening.
[God, Wynn, why are you so hard to hide things from jfc. (yay pathetic will saves). There's also the fact that she highly doubts Myri or Spike will refrain from telling him later, when he does talk to them, so...]
He also...came onto me. While he was impersonating Spike.
[Elena that is...an understatement.
Also wow this is not where she wanted this to go.]

[She's even straight forward starting to convince herself that she did know better. That there's no way Spike would have done that.
It's part of the reason she feels even more responsible.]
But, I'm fine.

[I sure did roll a will save to see if she'd say that. It was a nat 20.]

[She's here to try and make sure he doesn't lose his head. He can't make up for his mistakes if he'd dead. Incriminating him further isn't exactly going to help.]
Under slightly different circumstances, I can't say I wouldn't have made the same choice.
[Wow Elena that doesn't mean you made an informed decision. Your coping skills are gr9.]

Yes, sir. I have.
[Literally...right before she came here. She didn't want to lose her nerve.]
