[ As promised, Wynn meets Spike at the airport, to take him on a private plane back to New York where he just came from. He isn't particularly chatty on the way, although when they've landed, he turns back to regard him. ]

I'll ask one more time if you're certain of this, Sir Spike.  It is your decision, but I will trust your word.

[This is, for the record, the worst plan in the history of bad plans. And Spike's had a lot of bad plans, so that's saying something.

He glances up at Dumage, the slimmest smile flickering over his face. He's not exactly surprised she's alive. She has definitely gotten herself in tight enough with the bad guys that he doubts they'd kill her just like that. It's still nice to see.]

I know you've been keeping poorer company lately, love, but remember, our people don't kill without a bit more provocation than some light betrayal.

[He glances back at Crombe.]

Linguini boy? He doesn't precisely count as a good guy, does he? I mean, Buffy likes him, but she's a tidge biased.

[He steps forward as well, meeting her eyes and raising a brow.]

[ she takes one last step, all but closing the space between them, so that her eyes can bore into his, her words deliberate as she pleas silently with him to get it ] You've no idea. [ she reaches up to grip one of his lapels, dragging her thumb across it and glancing over her shoulder ] I can bring him around. Just give me a chance.

[ draken is watching all this with narrowed eyes, his hand slowly spinning the blade he still holds ] And if you can't?

Idea's suddenly sounding a lot more appealing coming from you. [Bluff 26. Like hell he's actually joining these assholes. Then again, he wouldn't be here at all for just anyone.]

[ dumage's eyes glitter a bit at his words, as she addresses draken's question ] Then she can have him for breakfast. [ the mind master folds her arms with a 'hmm ]

[He raises an eyebrow, still making eye contact with Dumage.] That part's less appealing.

[He probably should be more worried since that's ominous as fuck and he doesn't actually know how long it will take Wynn to come extract them. He also doesn't know if he can lie well enough to fool mind readers. But he's all in on plan so crazy it might just work, so he just shrugs a shoulder and gives Dumage a slim smile.]

That mean we're finally getting that drink?

the door leads to a short corridor, and she drags him down to the door at the end, shoving it open. the hotel room is fancily furnished, but there are no personal touches here - she certainly didn't pack a bag after all. the moment the door closes, she whirls on him, dropping his hand ] Have you completely lost your mind?!

Missed you too, love. [It's a fair question. He looks around the room. She seems to think they can speak freely, considering she's yelling at him for being stupid rather than explaining what a great dental plan the dark side has.] Think I finally surprised them? Doubt they expected this move.

Because they didn't think you were suicidal? Why on Earth are you here? I told you to go!

I did go. I just came back. [He rolls his shoulders.] Literally. Back-to-back cross-Atlantic flights. Believe it or not, this is a Wynn-approved mission. His idea, even. I was just the bloke dumb enough to say yes.

Why? Because you really were egotistical enough to believe you were the one who could stop them?

[bigbad]

Bloody hell, no. I'm not that moronic. [He reaches to take her hand again.] I wanted to get you.

[ of all the things she could have expected him to say, apparently that was not one of them. her hand sits limply in his for a moment, the shock obvious. ] ...You what?

[bigbad]

[Oh, Dumage. He actually smiles slightly. He'd assumed it was obvious. Only someone he cares about could inspire him to take this sort of risk.]

Wynn's going to get me out of here, ideally before those gits murder me. Come with me when he does.

[ she hesitates just a bit, something vulnerable seeming to swim to the surface of her eyes ] If I go anywhere, they won't rest until I'm dead.

I fell into this too deep, Spike. There's no way out for me now. You need to save yourself.
