kat's finally got the police hq blueprints on lock and tapped into all the security protocols, so it should be a simple in and out tonight. of course, they are breaking into a police station of all places, but kat's confident they've got this shit on lock.



buuuut then there's that whole thing where she slams the trunk closed on all their weapons and gear, dressed head to toe in black like the other two, only to find Jaka standing on the opposite side of their car, one eyebrow raised behind the sunglasses he's sporting even at night. he smirks and says: ]

[Spike glances at Buffy in the rearview mirror.]

Notice she didn't actually answer the question. Have you seen the cat around?

[But he gets out of the car just the same.]

[ that's ... actually a good point. buffy's concern is not eased. but she'll climb on out of the car. ]

Please. This stuff's a cake walk. [ she climbs out too as jaka eases out at his leisure. ] Just, uh, stand next to each other. It'll be easier to do all at once.

[Spike eyes Kat, then moves to stand next to Buffy.]

Let's get this over with.

[slay]

[ she looks up at spike, grim by all measures, and then looks over at jaka on her other side. this should ... work out well. she nods to kat. ]

[ kat digs something out of her jacket: a roll of Scotch tape. She pulls off a long piece and walks up to Spike, reaching out and yanking out one of his eyelashes without pausing to ask. :) ]

Ow! Watch it! [That was his favorite eyelash!]

Everybody's gotta pay the toll, hombre. [ she moves over to Buffy next ]

[bigbad]

See how you like it. [Though at least Buffy's going to be prepared...]

Are we sure it has to be an eyelash? I mean, not to advocate hair-pulling or anything here, but I've got a lot more of that to spare.

[ giving a very put-upon sigh, buffy makes a show of shutting her eyes. ]

[ kat plucks one of buffy's and turns to the drow, who has already yanked out his own and is holding it out on a finger. she gives him a judgy look but sticks it on the tape too, adding one of her own, and then waves her hand over it, closing her eyes. ] Tai ra nelf compendium! [ she punctuates the last word with a snap. and... suddenly none of them can see each other either. but they do hear kat's voice say: ] Told you so. C'mon, it'll wear off in a few minutes, but it should get us in.

How are we supposed to know where each other are?

Use your ears? I don't know, I'm new at this.

[slay]

Intuition? We'll figure it out. It's not gonna wear off while we're in there, is it?

[shootfirst]

Well, yeah, it only lasts like 4 minutes, ok? But once we're in I can magic the cameras. No big. We just need to get in unseen. [ You can both make listen checks to not run into each other (dc 13, roll a d3 to see who you bang into/accidentally grope if you fail) ]

[Yeah Spike's doing fine despite his grumbling (listen 26). Must be all that vampire grace. He starts walking towards the police station.]

[slay]

[ with buffy's listen of 27, she's doing fine dodging everyone, and she begins to make her way toward the station. ]

[ Kat easily opens the side door with a knock spell, and they slip into the dimly lit station. It's not entirely abandoned: an officer is at a cubicle across the room, face lit by the screen he's absorbed in. One set of footsteps breaks silently to the right (move silently 32) And it will take an equivalent listen check to follow. Another set takes a few fumbling steps that seem to echo loudly (move silently 12) GUESS WHO IS WHO. ]
