[ The Chicago O'Hare Airport is bustling as usual when Myri arrives. They haven't often had to use completely public transportation but since she's going on her own, it'd be silly to fly privately. However, that means Amaranth is going to have to fly cooped up... ]

[ she takes her to a cell, past the depressing, disturbing moans in others, and occasional glimpses of Shadowkind slumped in corners here and there. the doors are opened for her and asha gestured for her to go in. ] Your new home.

[witchwoman]

[Trapped. They're all trapped and now? So is she. She hesitates only for a moment before stepping into the cell. She turns once she's crossed the threshold, facing her escort.]

And now?

[scratchfever]

And now, you can settle in to your new home. It's probably the only place you'll ever see again. [ she clanks the door shut behind Myri, looking through the bars at her, long claws sliding down one of them. ] For your friends' sake, I hope they don't come looking for you.

[witchwoman]

[Panic seizes at her chest, fearful that the group would do exactly that if they ever found out. Better that they stay far away, out of danger. She couldn't bear the thought of any of them dying while trying to save her. She backs up slowly until she hits the far wall of her cell.]

[ there's a sudden sharp screeching noise that issues from the cell beside her, which is dark and smells strange as all fuck. ]

[witchwoman]

[Myri glances quickly in the direction of the sound, nose crinkling slightly as she tries to determine what that smell is. She edges towards the source.]

H-hello?

[ abruptly a pale inhuman face shoves itself against the bars, that sports enlarged black eyes, sharp pointy teeth, and bat ears. it hisses at her, gnashing its teeth multiple times. spot check~ ]

[witchwoman]

[Jumping back, Myri's eyes go wide- which helps her see practically fucking everything, apparently (spot 29).]

[behindcloseddoors]

[ the thing is covered in scars, bloodied and injured, and tied by a chain to a foot of the bed in its cell. it looks like it's hurt itself trying to rip its legs free. ]

[witchwoman]

[Well... it's a wounded creature and Myri can't very well just ignore that.]

It's alright. [She says as calmly as possible.] I'm not going to hurt you. I can help. [Diplomacy 16]

[ it stops screeching, hesitating in place and sort of crouching down like gollum as it looks up at her warily. ]

[witchwoman]

Can you understand me? I'm a healer- and you're hurt. [She edges closer to the bars, wary of the way the creature had lashed out at her before.]

[ its eyes bulge at her slightly as its head twitches a few times to the side. it's hard to say if it understands her or not, but its eyes are suspicious and afraid. ]

[witchwoman]

[Slowly, she extends a hand.]

[She's smart about it, keeping her distance but reaching out, seeing if the creature will meet her halfway.]

[ it whines and buries its face in its heads, and sounds like it's... crying. ]

[witchwoman]

Oh-! No, no... No, please don't cry... [She steps closer to the bars, less concerned with her safety and focusing fully on the poor creature.]

[ he seems to actually recognize the word, and looks up at her between keening cries. ] Eeeeeeeeee.... bo.

[It's hard to tell what part is crying and what is something akin to a name.]

[ he violently shakes his head, gnashing his teeth in frustration ]

[ he looks up again, eyes sparking with some kind of understanding. ] Eebo.

[ fear enters his countenance again and he looks towards the door of his cell, as if afraid of someone walking in at any moment. he shakes his head. ]

[She just met the... whatever it is, but she cares to the point of her detriment.]

[ he makes a strange whining noise again, terrified.

across the hall, a deep voice that seems perhaps to belong to a woman, but certainly not a human one, rumbles: ] He's afraid they'll kill him, if they find him in better shape than they left him.
