[Myri asks Spike to come with her, and they check out a car, which she lets him drive, directing him to take them towards London. As they ride, she studies him in the darkness, before finally saying:] I... meant to ask as well, how you were feeling. I heard people talking about what happened.

but finally it seems there's an end in sight.
at least for one of them.
spike has overheard dimitris talking about being 'finished' with his tests, although the implications of that are certainly grisly. after all, they've made it nothing but clear what they're after: whatever's lodged inside his skull, which they've identified as a chip. apparently it's breaking down, and they want to get to it now before it's entirely destroyed, to study what they can of it.
their discussions of the operation don't seem to include much sensitivity to whether spike survives the op or no.
so here he is, strapped to a gurney and being wheeled into an operating lab, and of course, sarandis orders myri to see the show, because he's a special kind of sadist. she's brought in, broken, defeated as she is, and positioned in a small spare room where she can watch through a glass window. several doctors in stained lab coats pull on gloves and masks, wheeling lights and equipment around spike.
it doesn't get much darker, and hope has never seemed further away. ]

[Spike's words are slurred. He's been in too much pain for too long to speak clearly, but that doesn't stop him.]
Be that much easier to kill you all once this thing's out of my head.

there's a commotion of noise, the sound of a doctor banging into a tray and knocking instruments on the ground, the scattered footsteps of guards, and then their deep yelling to STAY THERE, they're going to LOCK DOWN. ]

myri's guard moves closer to her but in the dark it's difficult to tell where to train his gun. spike can see clearly, but the room looks much the same as it did before, sans the few guards that dimitris took out of here with him. now there are just two by the door, as well as the doctors. ]

So he takes the obvious route and
turns into a bat. (transfiguration 16).
Shoot him now, bitches.]

wait is that gunfire in the distance .__. and it sounds like there's a loud horrible clanging in the walls. shit is crazy. her guard gropes for her arm but can't find her in the flickering light.
one guard manages to hit spike twice, despite his being a tiny bat (dmg 13) because he is a fucking professional. i guess... the other guy is too, omg they can't roll below 15, who are these motherfuckers. both those shots miss though b/c of the insane lighting. ]

AND GOT SO FAR
BUT IN THE END
Bats only have one freaking hp why the hell would anyone even want that
now there's a passed out bat on the floor please don't step on him]

"GET THAT CHIP."
myri can only watch helplessly through the window as spike is hauled unconscious back onto the gurney, his head lolling to the side until they strap into place, and begin to cut...
AFTER THEY INJECT HIM WITH THE NEEDLE JFC THAT PART IS IMPORTANT HOW DID I FORGET fjsklf;a ]

The guard's mouth falls open as he makes a strange hurk noise, and then the gun clatters to the ground, followed by the slump of his body as it falls off from Thomas' sword as he retracts it. The aasimar turns a concerned grimace towards Myri, lowering his weapon and putting a hand on her shoulder. Above, she can see now that there's a grate swinging open near the ceiling from where he'd just jumped out. ] My gods, Myri... [ He dips his head to get her to look at him, rather than out the window at the busy doctors. Whatever he sees in her eyes seems to shake him deeply and he whispers almost to himself: ] What have they done to you?
no subject
Spike! [She practically shouts it for how strongly it's forced out. She swallows and shakes her head.] Not me. He's down there. They're cutting him open. Thomas, please!

[ jack nods down the duct. ] Follow me. Thomas will take care of the rest.

How do I know this isn't some trick? You can't be real- neither of you.
no subject
I'm not certain what more you think they could do to you, but no, Myri, we're both very real. We overheard mention while investigating, of your names, and couldn't take the risk that it was a coincidence. What can I do to prove to you that I'm who I say I am?
no subject
I can't. I can't know. They knew so much. They knew Finnick. [For a moment she looks like she might try to head back down the open grate. But she pauses, closing her eyes.]
I can't know it's you but it doesn't matter. I'm dead if I stay down there. Perhaps now is the time for faith.
[Still wary, she nods for him to lead the way.]
