[Myri asks Spike to come with her, and they check out a car, which she lets him drive, directing him to take them towards London. As they ride, she studies him in the darkness, before finally saying:]   I... meant to ask as well, how you were feeling. I heard people talking about what happened.

[Myri immediately turns towards the guard in the room with her, eyes wide and adjusting to the darkness slowly (stupid human eyes).]

[ dimitris' voice is heard scowling orders, and then his distinctive footsteps head out to investigate matters, i guess. his final orders are clear: "Keep them here!"

myri's guard moves closer to her but in the dark it's difficult to tell where to train his gun. spike can see clearly, but the room looks much the same as it did before, sans the few guards that dimitris took out of here with him. now there are just two by the door, as well as the doctors. ]

[bigbad]

[Two guards? Darkness where humans can't see? Solid. He struggles weakly at his bonds for a moment (str 4) before finding a ~burst of determination~ (action point) to rip free like the monster he is (str nat 20). He shifts to let his fangs out, then runs to the door, swinging his fist at the guard with wild abandon (atk 25, dmg 14). ....of course, it causes his chip to go off, worse than before (dmg 7), but bearable. He lets out a snarl of pain.]

[While Spike smashes the hell out of everything, Myri does her best to try to slink quiietly along the wall to at least get herself closer to the door for what she hopes is Spike's grand entrance to get her the hell out of there (move silently 25)]

[ the lights flick on and off again, it's a rave up in hurr. one guard empties his gun towards spike (atk 27, 25; dmg 16), while the one he just hit steps back and does the same (atk 23, and a miss of 17, but hella penetration damage = 28 dmg). one of the doctors grabs a syringe and starts filling it up, hands shaking. ]

[Well, crap, that hurt a lot. He's bleeding and drugged and his head hurts and this is not a fight he can win, but he still wants out of here.

So he takes the obvious route and

turns into a bat. (transfiguration 16).

Shoot him now, bitches.]

[Taking a deep breath, Myri gets brave and reaches to try to open the door, hoping to slip out in the confusion while things are still dark...]

[ and the door is... locked 8( EVERYTHING IS HORRIBLE.

wait is that gunfire in the distance .__. and it sounds like there's a loud horrible clanging in the walls. shit is crazy. her guard gropes for her arm but can't find her in the flickering light.

one guard manages to hit spike twice, despite his being a tiny bat (dmg 13) because he is a fucking professional. i guess... the other guy is too, omg they can't roll below 15, who are these motherfuckers. both those shots miss though b/c of the insane lighting. ]

[Myri pulls away further from the guard when he goes to grab her arm, cursing herself for not knowing how to pick a lock. The sound of gunfire makes her jump, eyes darting for the window, even if she can't see anything out of it.]

[ when spike's limp bat body falls to the ground, it transforms back to his regular self, and over a loudspeaker they hear a crackling demand from dimitris issued:

"GET THAT CHIP."

myri can only watch helplessly through the window as spike is hauled unconscious back onto the gurney, his head lolling to the side until they strap into place, and begin to cut...

AFTER THEY INJECT HIM WITH THE NEEDLE JFC THAT PART IS IMPORTANT HOW DID I FORGET fjsklf;a ]

No no no no... [She doesn't realize she's saying it, panic swelling in her chest. She prays to the Stargods, to Jade's mother, to any gods that she thinks might listen and help keep him alive through this. Please don't let him die. Please don't leave me here alone.]

[bancroft]

[ The pace of the surgery is almost frantic, as they converge around him, obscuring his head so that Myri can't see a thing. The lights buzz on in her tiny room again, and the guard trains his weapon on her. But they're not alone in the room now. Standing behind him, with a vicious, grim grin on his face is a familiar figure in a battered leather trenchcoat with long straggled dark hair, with a greatsword in hand blazing with light... that he promptly stabs through the midsection of the soldier (power atk 25, and it's a crit... so with his smiting damage and power attack damage, that's 110 dmg). I think he's dead, Jim.

The guard's mouth falls open as he makes a strange hurk noise, and then the gun clatters to the ground, followed by the slump of his body as it falls off from Thomas' sword as he retracts it. The aasimar turns a concerned grimace towards Myri, lowering his weapon and putting a hand on her shoulder. Above, she can see now that there's a grate swinging open near the ceiling from where he'd just jumped out. ] My gods, Myri... [ He dips his head to get her to look at him, rather than out the window at the busy doctors. Whatever he sees in her eyes seems to shake him deeply and he whispers almost to himself: ] What have they done to you?

[witchwoman]

[Everything happens so fast. It's only as the guard starts to fall that she hears anything at all, turning around with wide, frightened eyes trained on the man. It takes her several long beats for her mind to recognize him, and immediately tears start to form. One hand reaches up, gripping at his shirt, holding on for dear life, but still she doesn't answer him until finally a single word comes.]

Spike! [She practically shouts it for how strongly it's forced out. She swallows and shakes her head.] Not me. He's down there. They're cutting him open. Thomas, please!

[bancroft]

[ his eyes dart to the window where the doctors are working and realization dawns. he grips her forearm nodding firmly. ] I'll get him. You go with Jack. [ he gestures towards the grate, where she'd see a rope is actually... swinging down from in the flickering light. ] Are you strong enough to climb, Myri?

[witchwoman]

I can try. [She says, voice still a little hollow but his presence helping. She nods and goes over to climb and...does really well, considering (climb 14)]

[dragonsclaw]

[ the british knight is up in the ducts, ready to help her by extending a hand down to give her the last hoist inside. he pulls her against himself with one arm in the confining space almost in a hug of comfort, although it's brief since they don't have time for hesitation. ] Myri... We'd hoped it couldn't be true.

[ jack nods down the duct. ] Follow me. Thomas will take care of the rest.

[witchwoman]

[She freezes as he gestures down the duct.]

How do I know this isn't some trick? You can't be real- neither of you.

[chessing]

[ he freezes to look back at her, his face falling at the realization of just how deeply her paranoia runs. ]

I'm not certain what more you think they could do to you, but no, Myri, we're both very real. We overheard mention while investigating, of your names, and couldn't take the risk that it was a coincidence. What can I do to prove to you that I'm who I say I am?

[witchwoman]

[She shakes her head]

I can't. I can't know. They knew so much. They knew Finnick. [For a moment she looks like she might try to head back down the open grate. But she pauses, closing her eyes.]

I can't know it's you but it doesn't matter. I'm dead if I stay down there. Perhaps now is the time for faith.

[Still wary, she nods for him to lead the way.]

[ he just stares back at her with evident concern for a moment, before nodding grimly. and off they go, but it's noisy in the damn ducts so make a move silently check. jack gets a ... nat 20 because being a dragon's claw means climbing through ducts all the time obvs. ]

[bancroft]

[ when spike wakes up, he has no idea how long it's been since he got bat-swatted, but what he does see is thomas standing over him, one hand on his shoulder. his head hurts like a motherfuck, probably because it's been stitched over very shoddily for now. ] Tell me you're still here, chap, because if I try to heal you, you'd feel it in the morning.

[witchwoman]

[Move silently 15. She's not quite a dragons claw ninja but she is pretty quiet. Duct shuffle.]

[bigbad]

[Spike groans and squints up at Thomas.]

Depends. You some sort of hallucination caused by those wankers cutting the wrong bit of my brain out?

[bancroft]

You mean these wankers? [ he looks down and if spike follows his gaze, he'd see the doctors... bloody corpses on the floor. ]
