[Myri asks Spike to come with her, and they check out a car, which she lets him drive, directing him to take them towards London. As they ride, she studies him in the darkness, before finally saying:]   I... meant to ask as well, how you were feeling. I heard people talking about what happened.

[He shakes his head.]

When it first happened, I asked Solace to. Wynn's a good enough boss but we're not exactly poker chums. Didn't seem necessary to tell him I was having... trouble performing.

[witchwoman]

I rather doubt he would have seen it that way.

[bigbad]

Yeah, well, I saw it that way. It wasn't interfering with my work. [But that might change if it stopped coming at nice, predictable times.]

[witchwoman]

Yet so many of the villains we'll inevitably have to face to finish this are human. We've been lucky thus far, but don't you worry that--

[bigbad]

Yeah, I worry. But we've got bigger problems than me getting a little bit of pain when I hit people. I can still fight a good deal better than most of the team.

[And Spike can't help but feel like Wynn wouldn't be overly interested in restoring Spike's ability to harm humans. Spike's a vampire. Who would want to give him that option?]

[witchwoman]

What if... what if the pain becomes unbearable when you attack them?

[bigbad]

It already is. [Spike glances away. Usually he'll fight through it anyway. People depend on him too much for him to just let it be.] Look, I'll talk to Solace, all right? See if he's found anything. But if I tell Wynn... [He might take him off the mission. Might bench him. And Spike's pretty sure he'd go bloody insane lounging around the castle with nothing to do while they worked on fixing him.] Just... don't think it's the best plan.

[witchwoman]

I guess I can understand that. [It can't be an easy decision for him, either way. If anyone knows something, it's more likely to be Wynn, after all. She points to a building slightly off the road, the parking lot all but abandoned.] Here.

[bigbad]

What's that? [He doesn't wait for an answer before he starts towards it, standing a little in front of Myri. Just in case there's danger.]

[witchwoman]

[ she stops him from moving too far from the car, one hand on his sleeve. ] It's hard to explain. But before we go in there, can I ask you something that... may seem foolish?

[bigbad]

[He looks down at her, forehead creasing.] Yeah, of course. What is it?

[witchwoman]

You've been so kind to me since the decision I made, and I... I never want you to forget what that means to me. It feels as if our family has been pulled in so many different directions, when once it felt as if we were inseparable.

[She reaches into her pocket and withdraws a simple bracelet. ] I had these made by Sir Ironsides while I was waiting for you all to return. There's... there's one for each of you. [Indeed, it has Spike's name engraved in fine script on the side, and all.] Will you wear it?

[bigbad]

[Aww, Mryi, that's sweet. Even if it looks kind of silly having the name Spike written out all pretty. Spike doesn't seem to care, though. He takes the bracelet and slips it on.]

Looks nice.

[witchwoman]

That it does, doesn't it? [ The moment it settles around spike's wrist, his entire body goes numb, as he's rendered under a hold person spell. A strange smile creeps up her cheek, a look in her eyes that seems strangely sinister on Myri's face, completely... out of character. ] A perfect fit, Spike.

[bigbad]

[WHAT THE FUCK IS EVEN HAPPENING RIGHT NOW. His eyes widen... or maybe not like this is some serious person shit can he even manage to change expressions rn this is NOT GOOD. There's hurt and anger in his eyes as he stares at Myri. If that is Myri, and not the non-Elena doppelganger or something. Whatever's going on, he has to get out of this to warn his friends and find out what happened to Myri. That'd be a lot easier if he wasn't... frozen in place.]

Bloody hell, what did you do to me? Who are you, and what did you do to Myri?

[witchwoman]

It's almost pathetic, really, how easy you've all been to fool. I bet Myri was so certain when I took her place that someone - anyone would notice the difference. Know her well enough to see through the disguise.

[ she moves closer, right up in spike's space, tilting her head with a venomous smile. ] But you all gave me everything I asked of you. Intelligence, access, your confidence.

[ she nods smugly at the bracelet. ] Your trust. Even her precious Finnick couldn't tell the difference. Though that shouldn't be surprising. Pretending to be him was how I took her in the first place.

[bigbad]

Yeah, you're bloody convincing. Are you Kyp, then? Cause I bet Elena won't fall for this. Really, thought we were getting on better than this.

[witchwoman]

Elena fell right into "Myri"'s arms when we had our little reunion at the castle. She never suspected a thing.

[ she trails a finger down spike's jaw and then flicks his chin. ] And it's nothing personal, Spike. She knows what matters to me is the game, not the pay-off. And this is the best game I've played in years.

[bigbad]

[His blood runs cold. Not just because Myri is creepy as fuck right now. But if Kyp's replaced Myri and fooled Elena...]

[IS BUFFY OKAY?!?!]

[bigbad]

Well, I was thinking of starting with you, mate. [ and right before his eyes, kyp... takes your face again, spike. 8) your favorite. ]

[bigbad]

[This is Spike's punching face. Right now? He'd be punching you pretty damn hard if he could. Right in your stupid face that looks like his stupid face.]

Why? Felt like having a good gloat?

[bigbad]

That's just a bonus. No, wasn't my decision. My employers are interested in that gizmo you've got ticking away in there. [ he presses a finger to spike's forehead. ] The one that zaps you every time you harm a human.

[bigbad]

[Spike gives him a flat look.]

If you're expecting any answers from me, you'll be waiting a bloody long time. I've got no clue.

[bigbad]

They're not really type to ask what they want to know. They're usually a bit more invasive. [ and he puts two fingers in his mouth and whistles, at which point lights flare up on a van in the parking lot and the back is thrown open. ]

And the fact that they hate our kind doesn't bother you? They won't hesitate to outfit you with whatever thing's in my head if they learn more. [Diplomacy... 9. Spike really needs to stop sinking everything into intimidate. SOMETIMES BEING NICE IS THE WAY TO GO.]
