CLOSED ♔ this mirror holds my eyes too bright

♬ lovers eyes - mumford and son
WHO || Myri, "Finnick" [Closed]
WHAT || En route to the castle, Myri is stopped by a familiar face...
WHERE || The Chicago-O'Hare Airport
WHEN || Immediately after this
HOW || Actionspam. Single thread.
[ The Chicago O'Hare Airport is bustling as usual when Myri arrives. They haven't often had to use completely public transportation but since she's going on her own, it'd be silly to fly privately. However, that means Amaranth is going to have to fly cooped up... ]

[She's afraid to be hopeful, afraid to think that maybe, just maybe...]
How did you find me?
no subject
I had Kat hack your flight number as soon as I saw your note.
[ it looks as if he wants to take another step forward, but he hesitates. ] I couldn't let you walk away with-- with things like this between us.
no subject
What are you saying? [So tentative, needs it to be clear.] I can't go back to how things were. You know that.
no subject
[ his eyes drop, as he exhales a breath ] I do. But I guess it was easier just to push you away than to deal with really looking at what I've been doing.

I-- [ he does step forward now, and there's more life in his eyes than myri has seen there in months. ] I want you to stay, Myri. For me. Even if it's probably the last thing I deserve, after what I've put you through. But it wasn't until I saw just how far I'd pushed you that it really sank in.
You were right. I don't have to let this just... be the way things always are, for the rest of my life. I can try to make it better, but I can't do it without you.
You've always been the thing that makes me better. At some point, I just... decided not to let you, anymore.
no subject
I'm sorry if I made it more difficult. I love you so much, Finnick. I never meant to... [She trails off and looks down, afraid of not being able to hold onto her emotions any longer.] It's been so painful, but maybe... [She pulls her gaze back up to him.] Maybe I could find the strength to go back if we did it... together.
no subject
If it's too much for you, being around all of them, we'll go someplace else. Together. But I think it's worth trying to make this work here first.
I love you too much to just let this slip away.

[ his answering smile is so relieved as to look almost pained as if he's trying not to cry himself. he moves forward finally, reaching up to brush her cheek with his palm ]
That sounds perfect.
In fact, you know what? I say we go right now.
no subject
I'd like that.
no subject
Me too. I've got just the place in mind, too. [ he lowers his hand to hers, knotting his fingers there ] Come on. Let's get out of here.
no subject
My bag. And Amaranth. We need to get them before we go. [Just the two of them and her familiar? It would be perfect.]
no subject
Right. Well, uh. Confession? [ he looks down, sheepish ] I sort of... parked right on the curb outside and ran past some security guards telling me to move. There's plenty of time before your flight [ he glances up at the board ], so why don't we go move it, and then I'll come right back here and get him?
no subject
Oh, well... Yes, we should probably take care of that. The last thing we need is some explosion in the newspaper about all this. [It's said with a smile. This almost feels normal. This feels like all she was hoping for. Before she turns to head out with him, she steps closer to press a kiss to his cheek.]
I love you. [Her hand squeezes his.] Let's go.
no subject
[ a hopeful smile tugs at his lips ] I love you too. [ and with that he takes her hand and leads her out of the terminal, out a side exit. ] It'll be faster this way.

[ ♬ break your plans - the fray
he pauses on the sidewalk outside abruptly, saying: ] Wait. [ and digging in his jacket pocket, turning her so that she's facing him, back to the road. ] I almost forgot. [ he takes out a solid gold bracelet and unlatches it, looking at her hopefully ] I got it for you before... everything happened, and I've just been carrying it around. Will you wear it?
no subject
Oh... you didn't have to... [But she holds out her right wrist all the same. It's very nice- simple, which is more of what she likes. She can't help the blush that creeps into her cheeks.]
no subject
[ he smiles and hooks it around her wrist, giving her exactly this look... and then he snaps it closed.
and her entire body goes numb, effectively under a hold person spell. a wicked gleam comes into "finnick"s eyes as he looks her over, hands still on the clasp. ]
Oh, but I did.
no subject
I don't... understand... [Her lips move with extreme difficulty, voice forced out with the most her strength has to offer.]
no subject
[ the white van rolls up right on cue, back doors thrown open. ] Well, then, let me spell it out for you. [ he leans way in, accentuating his words. ] Your lover boy isn't coming for you. But even if he does...
[ right before her eyes he morphs... and it's as if he's looking in a mirror. ]
He'll never realize you're gone. [ men come up behind her, grabbing her arms ]
